Oahu Interscholastic Athletic Association (O.I.A)
The Oahu Interscholastic Association (OIA) was first organized in 1940 with 5 rural high schools - Castle, Kahuku, Leilehua, Waialua and Waipahu. The OIA now has twenty-four member schools who compete in nineteen different junior varsity and varsity level sports.  The OIA concurs with the Board of Education and Department of Education in recognizing athletics as an integral part of the educational program of the high school.
The Hawaii High School Athletic Association
(HHSAA) was founded in 1956 and is exclusively dedicated to serve 78 public and private high schools as they work cooperatively to support and promote athletics as part of the high school education program. HHSAA also implements programs such as drug awareness workshops and leadership training seminars for coaches, officials and athletic directors. The association carries a proud history and has maintained a strong relationship with community and its schools.
