Eligible families encourage to apply for Free and Reduced Lunch Program

The HI Department of Education will return to pre-pandemic operations for the Free and Reduced meal program at all its schools.  Free meals for all students over the last two years ended when the student meal waivers from the US Department of Agriculture ended in June.  Students that do not qualify to receive free or reduced priced school meals will need to pay for their school meals in SY22-23.

Students that are eligible and qualify for the Free and Reduced school meal program should submit an application to continue receiving their benefits.  Benefits will expire if no application is submitted and approved for continuing to receive these benefits.

Students that are approved for the program can also receive other benefits such as test waivers, etc.

Paper applications will be distributed to all students at the start of the school year in August.  Otherwise families can ppply online for the Free and Reduced school lunch meals by clicking on this link.
