Principal's Message

Dear Family and Friends,

Aloha and welcome to Waipahu High School, Home of the Marauders.  As a College and Career Academy high school, we are focused on helping students to identify their passion, and providing them with opportunities to attain success.  Our student-centered motto is “My Voice · My Choice · My Future.”

Students at Waipahu High School have an opportunity to enroll in one of the six career academies – Academy of Arts & Communication, Academy of Health & Sciences, Academy of Industrial & Engineering Technology, Academy of Natural Resources, Academy of Professional and Public Services, or Ohana of Excellence Academy.

The Academy of Health & Sciences and the Academy of Natural Resources were recognized by the National Career Academy Coalition (NCAC) as National Model Academies with Distinction.  The academies are the first in the State of Hawaii to obtain this prestigious honor.

All academies are supported by teams of common teachers, dedicated counselor(s), and a designated Academy Principal throughout their Academy experiences.  We offer twenty-three (23) CTE programs of study such as Clinical Health, Culinary Arts, Engineering, Environmental Resource Management, Graphic Design, Law and Justice, Medical Biotechnology, Metals Technology, Multimedia, Natural Resources Production that are aligned to rigorous industry and post-secondary standards.  The faculty and staff at Waipahu High School are truly dedicated professionals committed to the success of all students.

Waipahu High School also features an exemplary Early College program thanks to the generous financial support of over $2.3 million dollars from the McInerny Foundation, and to our outstanding post-secondary partners at the University of Hawaii at West Oahu, Leeward Community College, Honolulu Community College, Kapiolani Community College, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  Last year, 648 unduplicated students enrolled in rigorous college courses, ranking Waipahu High School at the top of dual credit enrollment of all high schools in the State of Hawaii.

Our Waipahu High School students also have opportunities to participate in academic and co-curricular programs such as athletics, student councils, and culturally-based student activities.  There are 25 sports and over 48 student clubs and organizations that help to develop student leadership skills and allows them to pursue activities to develop their talents.
