Program Information
Health Information Technology (HIT) professionals process and maintain the medical records of a hospital or clinic. Also known as medical records technicians, their core responsibility is to manage information submitted by patients, doctors, and healthcare specialists.
Schedule: Early College - Summer, Spring, and Fall Classes
Location: Waipahu High Schools and LCC Campus
Certification: Certificate of Competence in HIT
Credits can transfer to LCC towards an Associate Degree in HIT
Credits can transfer to UH West Oahu towards a Bacherlor's Degree in HIT
Cost of Program: Free - Through early college classes
Benefits: Employment in billing/coding, Dual credit (4.0 classes), and participate in LCC
