APPS Business Pathway Logo
The Waipahu High School Business Pathway, launched in 1992 and now under the Academy of Professional and Public Services, prepares students for post-secondary education and careers focused in Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Hospitality & Tourism, Management, and Marketing.

Academic learning experiences are combined with hands-on work experience to help students develop the thinking and problem-solving skills critical to post-secondary education and career success.  Within the program students will be exposed to a myriad of opportunities, including but not limited to:
  • Being certified by the Internal Revenue Service through the Federal Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) to prepare State and Federal Personal Taxes in the community
  • Working at the HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union Student Operated Credit Union (SOCU) on campus: Opening new accounts, deposits, and verification of transactions
  • Potential summer internships through partnerships with:
o Atlantis Adventure
o HawaiiUSA FCU
o Marriott Ko'olina Beach Club
o Outrigger
o Zippy's Enterprise
o Waikele Premium Outlets
